01The firm
A small firm, by design
Clear advice.Considered strategy.Relationships that last.
AUREL & TAN is a boutique law firm in Kuala Lumpur. We advise business owners, growing companies and families on the matters that shape what they build and what they keep.
We are deliberately small. Every client works directly with a partner, from the first conversation to the last signature, and every engagement starts with a written scope and fee estimate. We would rather do fewer things very well than many things adequately.

03How a matter begins
Engagement, in writing
No surprises,by design.
You will know who is working on your matter, what it is expected to cost and what happens next — before any chargeable work begins.
- 01
A short request
Tell us what the matter concerns, without confidential detail. A partner reads every request personally.
- 02
A conflict check
Before discussing specifics we confirm that we are free to act. It is quick, and it protects you as much as us.
- 03
A first conversation
Usually forty-five minutes, by video or at our office. You leave with a view of the options and the next step.
- 04
An engagement letter
Scope, team, fee basis and estimate, in writing, before any chargeable work begins.
