Biography

Daniel founded the firm in 2011 after more than a decade in the corporate practice of a larger Kuala Lumpur firm. He wanted a practice small enough that every client would know the partner responsible for their matter, and senior enough to handle the matters that mattered most to them.

His work centres on acquisitions, joint ventures and the governance of privately held groups. He is often asked to act for founders and families at the point where a business changes hands — to the next generation, to a strategic buyer or to an investor — and he leads the firm’s private client work on family business succession.

Colleagues describe him as calm, direct and unusually good at finding the commercial point in a long negotiation. He writes regularly on governance for private companies.

  2. 2.Shareholder arrangements between founders, families and investors
  3. 3.Governance of privately held groups and their boards

Requests to speak with Daniel go through the consultation request, which asks for the kind of matter, a short outline and when you are free to talk. In a live build, a direct line and email address would sit here as well; this concept deliberately has none.
